WoW is a decent game and isn't anywhere near as bad as people would make it out to be. If anything just do the free trial and see if you like it or not. Personally, I play both WoW and GW and they are pretty different and have their pros and cons. The biggest difference is that WoW requires a much bigger commitment than GW does.

You couldnt pay me 15 bucks a month to play wow.
I classify WoW in the same class as Mapel Story..a cartoony game made for kids and adolescents, with less intelligence than Final Fantasy X2.

Sure, I want the transition--I want to see the areas that we'll encounter.

Mox was a nice update--getting the hero, going on the looong quest, as were the titan quests. I'd forgotten about those till someone mentioned them here. I'd take more content like that.

Small hard dungeons?

It's interesting that so many people still talk about WoW--that's a game that's even older than GW. One of my guildies is close to jumping ship for WoW on one of those free private servers or whatever.

I guess I'll just listen to the echoes in my guild hall.

I think what would make a serious difference in our outlook is a sense that the updates coming will do things to keep us involved:

Will the skill balance be significant?
Will new maps be introduced in PvP, or old ones resurrected?
Will there be other evolutions or revisions in the PvP games?
Will there be new quests added on some kind of semi-regular basis?
Will there be revisions to the skills used by mobs of monsters, or revisions to the makeup of those mobs? (necro-rit charr healers, anyone?)

I suppose the above are unrealistic, given the resources devoted to the game. I'd never claim these things are "easy" to insert, program, etc...but they sure would be nice.

Now, what I mean by "a sense" that these will be coming...well, I'd like more information about WHAT the current team does. I know that no one wants to spoil surprises, but the secrecy surrounding some updates is a bit much. Maybe it's because we publicly jump all over every hint and blow it out of proportion...but I feel little hope that much will come down the pipe now, other than skill changes...

**crosses fingers for a humdinger of an update.**

I stopped playing all computer games two years ago because of real life time constraints, and only a few months ago started playing games again. I tried WoW, Mabinogi, Perfect World, and look! I'm back here where I started -- at Guild Wars. I couldn't be happier.

Lucky you, at least you won't be jumping horses in the next month.

I have stopped playing and most of the roughly 20-30 people I used to play with have also quit.

Let me be perfectly clear on this: We didn't quit because it's a bad game.

Most everyone simply quit because we had completed all of the PvE content short of the "grind until your fingers bleed" stuff and well, you can only do the repetitive PvP stuff for so long before you get bored of it.

Guild Wars was and still is the very best MMO I've played and I love it. I still log in from time to time to check for birthday presents or just to see if any of my old comrades happen to be online but I'm afraid my long long buddy list is always empty. I really wish they would have continued to add more content in at a slower pace instead of just letting the game die in a gutter (which is really how it seems) and I find the absolute lack of any news, screens, videos, trailers, etc for the upcoming GW2 to be very discouraging.

Alas, I patiently await any news which as a matter of fact was why I was looking at these forums for the first time in months. But not to my surprise not even a snippet of news to be found.

I'd say rolling the other GvG team in 30 seconds with a balanced means that your team has more 'human intelligence'. It doesn't mean you have to trashtalk, though. The RA/AB stuff is pretty bad, though - but not worse than other games.

PS: Your avatar looks familiar, help me out here.
